Flossing

Flossing

We all know how important it is to brush our teeth. It helps prevent cavities and promotes good oral hygiene, but brushing alone is not good enough. The surface between your teeth and under your gum line has to be cleaned as well, and these areas cannot be reached with a toothbrush, that is where flossing needed. Flossing is a tooth-cleaning technique that uses a small piece of thread-like material, called floss, to clean these hard to reach areas.

Benefits of flossing

Flossing once a day is a vital part of preventing tooth decay and gum disease. Proper, flossing removes plaque and food particles in places where a toothbrush cannot easily reach, under the gumline and between your teeth. Because plaque build-up can lead to tooth decay and gum disease. In addition flossing prevents:

  • Prevents Gum disease

  • Gives you good oral hygine and keeps you healthy

Attention to everyday oral hygiene (brushing and flossing), coupled with professional cleanings twice a year, could be all that is needed to prevent and actually reverse the early stage of gum disease
